Perhaps my logic is oversimplified, but if enough people say yes, perhaps Drakier will look into it.
Would you like to see an option in Dual Client where you can have Dual Client adjust the INI file for Asheron's Call to control if the game is launched full screen or windowed, and also at what resolution. Personally when logging in only one account I prefer a larger resolution, full screen. When logging in two account, I prefer 800X600 in window mode to facilitate switching between the two |

More specifically, is there a need to be able to choose the Visualization settings PER ACCOUNT or just leave it as is?
The reason this was brought up was as meantioned by vellus, some people like having each account at a specific resolution and mode. So when you vote, please leave a post commenting on what exactly you would like to see added to ACDualClient in this respect. -------------------- The c++ compiler is a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power.

I'd like to see a global side for options such as hooking, polling etc... and an account specific for options such as this. If that is possible at all.

I think you misunderstood blackscorpion.
Windowed Mode is built into AC now. You can set it in the Graphics Options (F11). This poll is about putting the options back into ACDualClient and possibly making them tied to accounts. -------------------- The c++ compiler is a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power.

Having Windowed Mode and Resolution options for each account would be real nice.
Btw, I accidentally discovered that pressing ALT + ENTER in-game will switch you from full-screen mode to windowed-mode and back. Just FYI for anyone unaware of this. |

yes, please. I really liked the ability to enable windowed mode with dual client depending on whether I was going to log in one, two or all three accounts. Having windowed mode tied to the client would be really nice if it is a possibility.

I'm not sure I understand what the pro's and con's of this issue are, so I have a few questions.
Right now the game lets me switch to windowed mode while I'm ingame. I'm not dual logged tho, havent installed the new version yet. Can I NOT do that if I am dual logged, unless these proposed changes are added? If I CAN, then is there some advantage to having ACDC do it for me as I log in, other than saving me the few seconds it takes to do it once I'm logged in? I have lots of RAM (2GB) and find that I can alt+tab between accounts (on the previous version at least) just as quickly as I can switch windows when not in the game. Is there some other advantage to using windowed mode? I never change my resolution, so that has no relevance to me. Why does anyone want to change it from whatever they think is optimal for their screen/system? I'm in 1024X768 resolution. I just tried windowed mode for the first time in ToD, and found that the bottom of my AC screen -- including the chat box -- gets chopped off. Is there a way to fix that? I'd have no use at all for windowed mode if I can't see my whole screen. Thanks for any info. |

Yes would be great feature in ACDC.And im having a slight problem with ingame window mode , when you open your pack it goes fullscreen again , so when muling stuff it cannot be done in windowmode (and that blows).

I voted no qith a qualifier. This has zero interest to me and is a feature I would ulikely everuse. However if enough people think it is worthwhile and Drakier can do it I don't see an issue as long as it doesn't disrupt those that don't want to use this feature.

Draloch, click APPLY.
After changing any options, you always have to click Apply for them to stick.. Windowed Mode included. as for the other questions, you can always change the ingame options of each client separately (I believe). So once you're ingame, you can always modify the settings of one client without them changing the other one completely (as far as I"m aware.. would take testing to verify). -------------------- The c++ compiler is a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power.

I was windowed on one client and full screen on another client. I do know however that some features such as resolution, render radius, lighting etc. were not client specific. In short the changes I made for one account were the same on all of my accounts when I logged them in.

ok.. let me rephrase that.
there is only 1 config file. Whatever is in the Config File is what the client will be launched with. With that in mind, you can still alter the settings INGAME without affecting the other clients currently logged in. As soon as you go to launch a new client however, the settings will be changed based on the settings which were last changed/saved. So yes.. while you can modify the settings ingame without changing any other clients currently ingame, as soon as it goes to read the settings from the config file, it will pick up the last settings, and not the settings that were previously set for that client/account. Which is where the account stuff comes into play.. if we want to add that to ACDualClient or not.. not sure how we want to handle that. (which is what the poll is basically for) The other problem as I see it is that altering settings INGAME will NOT change the settings in ACDualClient if I make then account specific.. meaning, if you want to change the settings on an ACCOUNT BY ACCOUNT basis, you have to alter them through ACDualClient, and they will take affect the next time you launch a client with that account selected as "Active". Does that make sense? (meaning, you cannot change them ingame, and expect ACDualClient to remember them. You must set them in the ACDualClient panel if you want them saved for accounts if I decide to do that). -------------------- The c++ compiler is a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by its power.

Hi there.
I voteed no, but I'm not really opposed if Drakier can commit the time and the feature does not affect gameplay otherwise. I voted no because I think a few posting/voting misunderstand the current situation: - You can window using AC in any resolution, but 800*600 (with the computer itself set at a higher resolution) will make the windows small enough to manage easily. - The proposed change will not change this. As I understand it, it will simply enable the user to select a resolution for each account you have. Currently, I believe the resolution you set for one account in AC acts as the default resolution for all accounts. As I like using 800*600 all the time when I dual log, and I only use Drakier's to dual log, this feature is of no real use to me (again, as I understand it). P.S. Thanks to Drakier for all his hard work on this plug-in: it makes playing AC far less a headache than it would otherwise be. |

Heya
Firstly I'd like to thank Drakier for all the time and effort he's put into ACDC. I really missed it after the release. I'm not sure that I understand all the ramifications in this, geezer that I am. At this point I guess the main question for me is....If the windowed option is added back into ACDC, would the window be a "full screen" window with the taskbar visible at the bottom as it was (on my monitor at least) before ToD, or will it still be the preset ToD window that I currently have? Did that make sense? |
